components of wellness

Most people associate the act of or the pursuit of being in good health with happiness, but wellness and happiness are not mutually exclusive.

The Global Wellness Summit describes wellness as the state of overall health, while happiness is a more perceptual concept. Well-being includes sustaining good mental health and finding satisfaction in life while being fulfilled by purpose, which usually denotes a stress-free and happy lifestyle.

While both have similarities, you can have one without the other. And many creatives, entertainers, and influencers understand this at a high level because pursuing any dream is often met with highs and lows that are an unavoidable part of a process. For example, you may have done a great job at an audition but been outperformed, which results in the feeling of defeat.

The key to finding happiness through wellness is understanding the eight dimensions of wellness --

Emotional

Environmental

Financial

Intellectual

Occupational

Physical

Social

Spiritual
